North London SolFed holds 2012 AGM
Topping off a successful week that included an all day picket of the union-busting employment agency ADECCO, yesterday the North London local of the Solidarity Federation held our 2012 annual general meeting. Attended by about two-thirds of our membership, the meeting included a mix of long-term members (including one who was in Direct Action Movement before it became the Solidarity Federation) and others who've only joined in the past few months.
Besides electing officers, we gathered to discuss how to build on the successes of 2011. Reflecting on a year that saw us over double in size, we revamped our meeting structure and decided on working groups to focus our activity. In another exciting development, we decided on a series of monthly trainings that will not only develop our skills as a local but will be open and advertised to our friends and comrades. Keep an eye out for your invite!
After what was, at times, an intense meeting we were all glad to retire to the pub for a meal and a few too many drinks.
